Get Ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!!!

I love this time of year!  Football, weather cooling off and just all the changes in nature!  I want to thank all of you for the prayers and words of encouragement during these months.  Losing my son has been the biggest challenge in my life.  So let's get to something more pleasent to talk about!

I am going way out of my comfort zone and I have paid for a space in our local Arts and Craft fair in November.  So I have been working on some of the items for that and I thought I would share some of them with you today.

Again thanks for all the encouragement and prayers.  The crafting community is an awesome place to meet some incredible people with strong faith!

Blessings for the day!

Guess Who!!!!!

Ok so here I am again apologizing for my lack of posting.  That seems to be a regular thing now days!  Well today I have done nothing much but hang out at the house with the hubby.  John worked late last night counting parts at his work and I just read a book, my Bible and wrote in my journal.  So today I have pretty much been lazy also; but I did take some time and worked in my scrapbook room.  I made some cool braclets out of grunge board.  My dear friend Val clued me into an awesome internet post that showed these so I thought I would play with it and see what I came up with.  I made one and took it to work with me and and one of my co-workers took it and she has ordered more.  I can't wait for her to see the ones I made today.  So I thought I would share with you.  So please let me know what you think about them and if you have any suggestions or know of anything other cool things you have seen made out of grunge board.  Have a blessed weekend.

Hello again!!!!

Ok folks, I know it has been a really long time since I have posted anything.  I do apologize for my lack of posting.

Today I came home to a house that was 89 degrees! Yes in Oklahoma that is hot!  As I opened my door my poor cat was waiting for me panting like she had not had any water in days.  I felt so bad for her, I am a bad cat momma!  Anyway I called and have the air people on the way sometime tonight!  So Tiger and I are sitting by the window enjoying the cool breeze.  It sure has been a long time since I took the time to really enjoy an evening breeze, I guess sometimes life just forces you to stop and enjoy nature.

Well while I was away I made a wedding gift for a dear friend of mine and I thought I would share some photos of it.  I took a canvas and covered it using modpog and scraps of some of my best papers I have used on other projects.  Then I used E6000 glue and attached a cross to the center of the canvas.  I think it turned out really nice.

Well it was really great chatting with you but  I must go and something cool to lay on now!  May all your days be filled with blessings and as always thanks for stopping by!

A Winter's Day

I am not having a good day today.  I have been really struggling with the loss of my son.  It will be 3 years in August but most of the time it seems like just yesterday.  Sundays are always hard on me because we would spend them together doing whatever the weather would permit.  We loved to go to our local lake and check out all the cool things going on during the different seasons.  Billy was a nature geek (that is what I called him!) but he could tell you so much by just looking at your surroundings and paying attention to the changes in the trees and ground.  I so miss those days!  So I had to do something to get out of this funk and get my heart back to a place where I could function.  So my thoughts were on crafting!!!!!!  Last weekend I spent the day with a blessed friend named Val.  We went to a Valentine's Day Card class at a awesome store called the Scrappin Bunny in McKinney Texas.  If you ever get the chance you really need to go and visit that store.  The folks there are so nice and they just make you feel right at home.  Our class was taught by an incredieble lady named Jen.  She is a fellow Tim Holtz junky as I am!  We made a great card using different techiniques and also a tag to put on the inside pocket of my card.  They turned out beautiful if I must say so.  So as I think about what a great weekend I had, I ponder on the blessings that crafting has given me.  For one I would never have met Val and the many ladies that have been there to help me along this journey.  I also think of the times I just could not think of anything to make things stop spinning in my head so I would sit down and look at different people's blogs and get lost in their world and for a bit mine was not this horrible filled life of grief.  So to all the folks that blog, please continue your daily posts you never know whoes life you are touching and in what way you have saved mine so many times.  Then to Val my blessed friend of scrapbooking and just fun.  I know no matter what you are there and that means the world to me and your gift of friendship will be the gold in my treasure chest that I will protect for the rest of my life!  Love ya girl!  So after this craziness that I have left you with I thought I would show you a few pictures of what me made on that weekend.  Hope everyone has a blessed week and I will do my best to post more often.  Thanks for stopping by and as always remember I love to have your comments!

Little Note Books

Sorry it has been a couple of days since my last post.  I wanted to show you a little notebook I made for one of my friends as a gift.  I love these little notebooks; they are just the perfect size to fit in your purse, bag or even in your coat pocket for making quick notes.  I am even thinking of taking letter tabs or month tabs and making one into a address book or a birthday book.  I am always forgetting birthdays and I think that would solve my problem of missing birthdays.  You can purchase these little notebooks at Wal-mart or any other dollar store for around $.77 to $1.00.  Then I just used scrap paper I had laying around to cover the front and back covers.  I used my Quic Kutz die cutting machine and the Chickedee font for the wording and added a cute button in the middle of a flower with a little ribbon; and there you go with a cute useable gift! Sorry about the poor picture quality I am learning how to take better photos for uploading. Hope you enjoy the post today and I will be back another day with more.  Thanks for stopping by and remember I always enjoy comments!  Have a blessed day!

A FEW OF MY CREATIONS!

I thought I would take some time and show you a few of the things I have done here lately.  I am including photos of a Christmas Tag I made, and a Birthday card I made for a friend. I know there are so many techniques out there that I can't even imagine where to begin.  Thanks for stopping by:)

HERE I GO!!!!

I am so excited to start this new step in my adventure of crafting!  I have viewed several blogs and have always wanted to do one myself, so here I go!  I will do my best to provide you with a glimpse into my world of scrapbooking, card making and anything else hand made I can get my hands into! So set back; grab your cup of java or whatever your flavor of choice might be (mine is Diet Coke!) and lets spend some time sharing our passion for anything hand made! Please leave me feedback and any other comment you might feel. Until next time HAPPY CRAFTING!!!!!
